Join us as we welcome Jennifer Wolkin, PhD, to the NAMI Virtual Forum for a lesson on rewiring our brains for wellness through mindfulness and neuroscience on Thursday, January 28th at 7:00 PM on Zoom.
In today’s day and age, “mindful” and “mindfulness” have become often meaningless buzzwords that are used colloquially. Perhaps many of you have been told to “be mindful,” without any context or guidance. Yet, do we really know what it means to truly be mindful or to cultivate mindfulness?
In Rewire for Wellness, Dr. Wolkin will dip into the scientific research studying mindfulness, translate its jargon, and share the bottom-line take home message to lay out for you in tangible terms:
• What mindfulness is, truly
• How mindfulness practice can help all of us rewire for wellness
• Make a case for taking five minutes of your day, every day, for self-care through practice
• How to begin a long-lasting practice
