March for the 22
NAMI Bucks County, PA, in partnership with the March for 22 group, held the first “March for the 22” event on the grounds of the Doylestown Courthouse on October 22, 2017. The event was created to bring awareness to the fact that 22 United States Military veterans lose their lives to suicide every day.
Twenty two men and women marched 22 kilometers carrying standard military rucksacks each weighing 22 pounds from Washington Crossing National Cemetery to the Doylestown Courthouse. This event was a combined effort of NAMI of Bucks County, active duty military veterans, community leaders, and citizens of Bucks County.
We would especially like to thank our Bucks County Commissioners Charles Martin, Robert Loughery, and Diane Ellis-Marseglia for their leadership and support. We would also like to thank Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick for taking the time to send off our Marchers at 6:30am with his inspirational words, letting us know that we will be a voice for all Veterans and families who struggle every day in our community.
If you are interested in making a donation, please send checks made payable to NAMI of PA, Bucks County Chapter at 600 Louis Drive, Suite 106, Warminster, PA 18974 or donate online.
