Beneath the Vest: First Responder Mental Health Virtual Film Screening

Beneath the Vest is a series of short films by OC87 Recovery Diaries featuring 8 stirring stories of real first responders who have struggled with mental health challenges and came out on the other side. These brave men and women demonstrate that seeking help is a strength, not a weakness, and that hope and recovery are possible.

OC87 Recovery Diaries, together with NAMI Bucks County PA, Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital and Delaware Valley University present an evening of open discussion on the anxiety, depression, complex PTSD, repeated exposure to trauma, relationship issues and substance abuse problems endemic to first responder culture, which sometimes perpetuates a stigma against seeking help.

The Storytellers:
Rob Davis, Police Officer
Ed Pila, Police Officer (Ret.)
Craig Tinneny, Dispatcher
Joseph Peterson, Police Officer
Michelle Monzo, Instructor
Ron Griffith, Police Officer (Ret.)
Ian Stoddart, Paramedic
Ashley Neubauer, Paramedic/Firefighter

Several of these storytellers, along with local mental health professionals, will join together to answer your questions after the film.
