Laurie Pepe resides in Bucks County, PA and is a NAMI Ending the Silence state trainer, Bucks County, PA lead presenter/coordinator, and a NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group facilitator. She is dual degree professional with a BA Psychology and an A.A.S Marketing/Merchandising from F.I.T. Laurie has worked within the behavioral health system primarily with transition aged youth, but also with adults for many years. She has facilitated training for self-advocacy and mental health awareness, and has obtained grant funding for the program. Laurie is responsible for recruiting, training, supervising and mentoring 4 young adult speakers. She schedules all school and community presentations.
Laurie serves on many boards: suicide prevention task force, NITT (Now Is The Time Transition), and Bucks County Promise for youth with mental health and co-occurring disorders. She is a family member who loves and supports someone with mental health diagnoses, and she is a peer diagnosed with depression. In her spare time, Laurie is also a singer, songwriter, poet and her most cherished role is one of being a nanny to her 2 grandsons. Laurie does not consider her job just a job, but a vocation, a calling, an honor and a privilege as she continues to learn, be inspired by and form relationships with such inspiring people.
